Merry Christmas Eve!

Last night I worked on packing up a few Christmas goodies for work and snapped this pic on Mr. Michie’s phone (sorry for the grainy pic, I was doing this by the glow of twinkle lights). I found some adorable red and white polka dot bags and these very cute cupcake boxes, which I thought would perfectly hold my cookies and it worked!
I filled each bag with a jar of homemade apple butter and a box of snowballs. Today I shall deliver them to their intended recipients.
The snowballs were made from a recipe by the lovely Serena Thompson of The Farm Chicks. I started making them 2 years ago and they have become a tried and tested favorite in the Michie household, perfect for gift giving and eating with a cup of tea.
I love Christmas! I have been listening to Christmas music off and on since October and one of my favorite albums is, A Charlie Brown Christmas. It doesn’t get much better than Vince Guaraldi and his jazz piano. I listen to this album almost everyday on my way to and from work. It makes me happy!
Here are a few of my favorite songs from the album, for your musical enjoyment!
Well, for one reason or another this week has gotten away from me. I did take down all my Fall decorations, but they are waiting to be put into the attic and my Christmas things are waiting to be taken down. So tonight, when I get in from work, I plan to dust and vacuum and get everything in order for Saturday morning.
I have decorating to complete this weekend, and a toy to finish sewing and a few more to make, I have Christmas cards I need to start writing and a package to get ready to mail to someone special. And, in all of this I want to make sure that I take a bit of time to breath, because I haven’t been able to do that this week.
Here’s to the weekend! For with it comes the glow of twinkle lights from our soon to be festive holiday cottage!
P.S. Happy St. Nicholas Day! I hope you were good and he left a little surprise in your shoe!
