Here’s To…

Kissing on the Stairs

Here’s to sunshine, to grass underneath your toes and to a cold beer on a hot day.

Here’s to being forever young, for finding the beauty in things and for letting go what doesn’t matter.

Here’s to the Alabama Shakes ( I know I’ve posted this song before, but I just love it!), to dancing on a Friday night and getting sweet kisses from Mr. Michie.

Here’s to the weekend, long may it last!

Kicking Off Our Shoes

Christmas Kisses The Nite Tripper

We’re kicking off our shoes and kicking back this weekend. It might have only been a four day week, but it certainly packed a punch!

Mr. Michie is sick, so we’re not getting a lot of sleep. There have been problems on the either the train or tubes every day. Wednesday night I had the joy of being stuck for about 40 minutes in the tube as there were signalling problems further down the line. School has been manic and it doesn’t feel like we ever had Monday off.

But, all of that has come and gone, the weekend is here. It might only be two days, but I plan to make the most of them!

Here’s to the weekend. Long may it last!

True Survivor

I have a secret. It’s a guilty pleasure secret and I’m going to share it with you. About two weeks ago, I read about a Kickstarter campaign to make a time traveling movie called “Kung Fury”. David Hasselhoff is involved in the project and has made a music video.

The title song, “True Survivor”, along with the video is just the best reminiscent cheesy 80’s piece of happiness that I have come across in awhile. I can’t stop listening to this song, it’s just too good. I’ve played it so often, Mr. Michie even knows all the words. I played it for my parent’s and they liked it too. I’m not ashamed to admit, I like “The Hoff”, singing away in his leather jacket in front of a white Knight Rider styled car.

I think the title of the song is appropriate, because that is what I have done this week: SURVIVED! Here’s to the weekend!

Pretty in Pink

One of my all time favourite John Hughes’ movies is: Pretty in Pink! The cast is great (Molly Ringwald, Jon Cryer, Andrew McCarthy, Harry Dean Stanton, Annie Potts and James Spader), the costumes are even better; the music, oh, don’t even get me started!  Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark’s, “If You Leave”, one of the greatest 80’s songs ever, that took us in to movie bliss in the middle of a darkened parking lot at the end!

This past week, James Corden recreated the famous record store scene with Jon Cryer (who plays Duckie). I loved it! Is it just me, or does anyone else think, Jon Cryer should keep wearing his hair like that? That wig just seems to work for him.

Here’s to the weekend, long may it last!

Hey Ethel!

1960s Girls on a Balcony

“Hey Ethel?”

“Yes, Francine?”

“It’s Friday!”

“I know Francine! With our high stacked bouffants we’re ready for a night out on the town!”

“Here’s to the weekend, long may it last Ethel.”

“I’ll drink to that!”
