Fresh Flowers

A beautiful little arrangement my mom put together for my sister. Pretty carnations and fresh mint from my sister’s garden. It smelled wonderful!

Just a Girl…

I’m just a girl from Upper Sandusky, she said. Oh, Upper Sandusky, the town where Doris Day hailed from in That Touch of Mink, I am so glad I drove past you!

Have a wonderful weekend!

National Geographic 2011

The other night, Mr. Michie showed me some of the photographs that have been entered in this year’s National Geographic Photography Competition.

I was astounded by what I saw, and I thought I would share a few of my favorites with you.

I love the image of the Geisha. I find these women and the culture surrounding them to be truly mesmerizing. Even today their existence carries on a tradition that supersedes all the technology we have and the fast pace we seem to constantly be moving in; it still holds that they are just as highly respected and still a truly elite group of women who traverse around Kyoto in all their beauty.

Oh, Deer!

Oh Deer! She, just happened to jump into my hands at the Renegade Craft Fair and I took her home with me. Isn’t she lovely, she traveled all the way from Germany and she is made by hand.

I haven’t picked a name for her yet, but I think it has to be along the lines of Gertie or Heidi or Gretchen….
