Pink Blossoms

Jennifer Michie Regent's Park Blossoms

We took a stroll through Regent’s Park today and the trees were full of blossoms. When the wind blew, the blossoms fluttered away in a swarm all around us, like delicate pink snowflakes. We were in a snowstorm of Spring.

Into the Mist

It was chilly this morning and a mist hung heavenly in the air, clinging to anything it touched and shrouding the world around me like a fine lace.

My train pulled into the platform and the driver hadn’t even turned on the lights yet. It made my ride very atmospheric, as we go through a number of tunnels. The darkness was calming, I could have just kept on riding, listening to my tunes and watching the world go by. I snapped a few photographs of the mist as we rode along, it was a magical morning.

Stolen Time

Buy A Little House

I’m tired, but I’m not tired. Do you know what I mean? I feel like Frost, I have miles to go before I sleep. This week is getting the better of me. I have still found things to smile over and small blessings in my day, but, I am so ready for the weekend. I don’t feel that I have had one moment to truly catch my breath.

I think I have to give up on my dream of a snow day as the days are moving more and more into Spring. However, our nights have been very cold and there is usually frost on the ground in the morning. So, now I will dream of the weekend, because all I want to do is lay in bed with Mr. Michie, go for a long walk, get some coffee, make a loaf of bread, watch a good movie and just be.

I wanted a snow day, not only because I LOVE snow, but because it is stolen time, an unexpected gift to make all your own. So, this weekend amongst all the things that must be done, we are going to find some time to steal and make our own.

I love the picture above and it always makes me think of my favorite Feist song. In true Feist fashion the video is a bit wacky, but the lyrics speak volumes to me. Happy Wednesday!

It Must Be Monday!

Anne Taintor PTA

Today, was one of those days. You know the kind of day I’m talking about! One of those days where you would be better served going back to bed and waiting till tomorrow to crawl back out.

Cons:

  • I sliced my finger pretty deeply this morning while taking out the recycling and it bled a lot!
  • I pulled a muscle in my shoulder blade yesterday, doing of all things, cleaning the house, and I am pretty sore.
  • Our kitchen was invaded by ants last night. So this morning we waged a war against them, while trying to throw dinner together in the crock pot, iron clothes and run around getting ready for work, all of this happened before 6am.

Pros:

  • For a few fleeting moments, I watched a flock of geese munch alongside a soft headed cow on grass that was sugared with frost
  • The sunrise was a glorious peachy pink color that filled the sky like a delicate blossom about to bud open and I watched the golden orb that the sun is slowly rise above London as my train traveled.
  • Mr. Michie was waiting for me when I got home, with the sweetest smile. He had finished cleaning the house for me! Oh, how I love that red-headed man of mine!

Well, tomorrow is another day as Anne Shirley says, with no mistakes in it yet!

Heading Home

Jennifer Michie London 2014

This was my view tonight as I was heading home. I had one errand to run and then I dashed off to the train. We’re in the homestretch now, tomorrow is Friday, which heralds the ending of the week and the beginning of two whole days just to ourselves.

Good Morning, Good Night!

There was a bit of light this morning when I left for work. I could see the cows lazing in the pasture on the dew laden grass as the train scooted by. The air was chilly, you could see their breath hanging above their soft heads. The fields were covered in mist, that ribboned around the trees, giving the pasture a haunted appearance. All the signs of Spring coming to England.

After rain for much of the day, the skies cleared on my journey home and soft peach and pink and lemon yellow clouds filled the sky.

As the train whirred by I snapped these photos, all in a blur and haze, which is how I mostly see the world on my train travels.

This was my Good Morning.

Hello March!

This gorgeous reddish coral colored camellia bush that I visit on my walk to school, is in full bloom. I couldn’t help but take a photo of it yesterday even though it was pouring with rain. Even in the rain it is worth stopping to see the beauty in this world.
